Convert PDF to Word (.docx)

Get an editable Word document from a PDF. The converter keeps the text, paragraphs, bold and font sizes, so a letter, report or contract can be edited in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.

It is honest about its limits: tables, columns and images are not reproduced, so complex layouts need retouching. Scanned PDFs contain no text; run them through OCR first.

How to use it

  1. Drop a PDF.
  2. Click "Convert to Word".
  3. Download the .docx and open it in your word processor.

Questions

Are tables and images kept?

No. Text, paragraphs, bold and sizes are kept; tables, columns and images are not. For complex layouts, expect to adjust the document.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Run it through OCR first so it has text, then convert it.

Which programs open the result?

Any that read .docx: Microsoft Word, LibreOffice Writer, Google Docs and others.

Are my files uploaded?

No. PDF to Word runs in your browser on your own device, so your files never leave it. It is free, with no account, no limits and no watermark, and the code is open source (AGPL-3.0).
