Convert Word (.docx) to PDF

Open a .docx file, check the preview and save it as a PDF with your browser’s print dialog: choose "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF") as the printer. Nothing is uploaded and no Office installation is needed.

The document is converted to a simple web layout first, so headings, paragraphs, lists, bold and basic tables come through, but complex layouts, custom styles and exact page breaks may differ from Word. Older .doc files need to be saved as .docx in Word first.

How to use it

  1. Drop a .docx file and check the preview.
  2. Click "Save as PDF…".
  3. In the print dialog, pick "Save as PDF" as the printer and save.

Questions

Will the PDF look exactly like in Word?

Not always. Simple documents convert well; complex layouts, headers and exact page breaks need Word or LibreOffice for a faithful PDF.

Can I convert .doc files?

Only .docx. Open the .doc in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.

Why does a print dialog open?

The browser’s print engine creates the PDF on your device; choosing "Save as PDF" writes the file instead of printing.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Word to PDF runs in your browser on your own device, so your files never leave it. It is free, with no account, no limits and no watermark, and the code is open source (AGPL-3.0).
