Compare two PDF files
Got a new version of a contract or offer and want to know what changed? Add the original and the changed PDF. You get the added and removed lines of text page by page, and a visual view where areas only in the original are marked red and areas only in the new version green.
The visual comparison also catches changes that are not text, such as a moved logo, a new signature or a swapped image.
How to use it
- Choose the original PDF and the changed PDF.
- Click "Compare".
- Switch between "Text changes" and "Visual changes" to review each page.
Questions
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
The visual comparison does. The text comparison needs text in the PDF; run scans through OCR first.
What do the colours mean?
Red marks what is only in the original, green what is only in the changed version.
Are the documents sent anywhere for comparison?
No. Both files are compared in your browser.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Compare PDF runs in your browser on your own device, so your files never leave it. It is free, with no account, no limits and no watermark, and the code is open source (AGPL-3.0).
