Compress and convert images

Make photos small enough for e-mail, a website or an upload form. Convert JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and HEIC images to JPG, WebP (smallest files) or PNG (lossless, keeps transparency), set the quality, and optionally shrink anything larger than a maximum width and height.

Convert a whole batch at once and download the results as a zip. The total size before and after is shown, and location and camera data (EXIF) are stripped from every image.

How to use it

  1. Drop your images.
  2. Choose JPG, WebP or PNG, the quality, and a maximum size if you want to resize.
  3. Click "Convert" and download the images or the zip.

Questions

What quality should I use?

70–85% is usually indistinguishable from the original and much smaller.

Is GPS location removed from photos?

Yes. The images are re-encoded without EXIF data, so location, camera model and date are not included.

Should I use WebP?

WebP gives the smallest files and opens in all modern browsers; JPG is the safest choice for older programs.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Image converter runs in your browser on your own device, so your files never leave it. It is free, with no account, no limits and no watermark, and the code is open source (AGPL-3.0).
